For speedy assistance, if you do not know what your browser version you are using and need to know please visit this link: Browser Check
This page will check your browser’s settings and display the information we need to better assist you if you are experiencing technical issues with Angel that may be caused by the web browser.
Recently there has been a big bug within Angel making the gradebook to malfunction with its horizontal scroll bar. As most of the time this bug has affected Internet Explorer due to its render engine (WebKit). We have found that Firefox has been a good solution, but there is a little feature that could prevent a user from seeing this scroll bar. Here is the Firefox issue:
Below is a screen capture of the gradebook with this feature on; the “Find” tool bar at the bottom. If the users screen resolution is not high enough to render the page smaller then the overall browser window it will place this toolbar over the horizontal scroll bar. Note: If you have just recently updated to Firefox 5 (same result in previous version: 4), there will be tool bar open just like the “Find” but with just a little “x” on the left hand side. Just click on this button. Same goes for the “Find” toolbar.
Before:
The next image shows the “Find” feature off revealing the horizontal scroll bar.
If a user is experiencing this in Internet Explorer, then another method would have to be done. Since Internet Explorer renders webpages differently then all the other browsers, what happens it that the page is being rendered bigger then the browser window. Try using the shortcut: Ctrl+- (holding the control and the pressing the minus key on the keyboard). Or alternatively: Holding down the Control key and spinning the middle mouse wheel up (3 button mouse with a wheel). This method will also work with Firefox.

You must be an active student to access Angel.
If you are having trouble accessing Angel through www.irsc.edu, try going directly to angel.irsc.edu and enter your username and password.
When entering your Student ID, enter it without the dashes. Example: A01-23-4567 would be entered in as: A01234567. Your pin will be given to you upon registration if you are a new IRSC student. If you are an existing student, please use the pin you use to login to your online web registration. If you have forgotten your pin, please send an email to virtualclassroom@irsc.edu. Please provide the following information as it will help the E-Learning support team identify who you are:
You must use the same login as RiverNet or Webmail NOT the web-grading password.
If you are having trouble accessing Angel, try going to Webmail enter your email and password. Failure there means that you have probably locked yourself out of your RiverNet account and need to either wait out the lock-out period or contact the RiverNet helpdesk (not the E-Learning helpdesk, they cannot help with RiverNet passwords.)
Sometimes your browser can hold old information in your cache. This “cache” is consisted of: cookies settings. If you are using the correct login credentials and you cannot log in successfully then is may be the issue. Please use the following procedures to clean out your browsers’ cache.

In order to add students back into the course roster, please check the Mariner system to verify that the student has been enrolled. From there you can then proceed to add the student into the course in Angel by the following steps:
Roster Sync can be an extremely useful tool in Angel. This is useful if teaching multiple sections of the same course. It allows you the ability to import the rosters of one or more courses into one main course. All students will access only one course and your grading can be in one main course. This PROCESS SHOULD BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE SEMESTER or PRIOR TO STUDENTS BEING LOADED INTO CLASSES.
How to Use the Roster Synchronization:

Angel logon credentials are synched to your IRSC webmail login credentials.
Webmail passwords expire every 40 days, so faculty need to be aware of this and change their passwords before they expire or they will be locked out of webmail and Angel.

Internet Explorer 9 is not officially supported by Angel, but will be in the future. As of right now, there are a few issues that have addressed and will be corrected.
One of these issues is the rearrange function. By default, Internet Explorer 9 has its new “Render Engine” turned on. This means that only newer webpages designed for today’s standard, will be able to render correctly. You can fix this by clicking on an icon for “Compatibility”.
At the end of the address bar you will see and icon that looks like a broken page
close up view:
While in Angel, click on the icon and it will turn blue. This means that it will now render as if it was and older version of Internet Explorer and should fix the little issues with older scripts, layouts, etc. Note: when you click on this page it will take you back to the course homepage if already in a course. Example: if you are in Lessons and click on this icon it will take you back to the Course tab.
You should now be able to use the rearrange function.
Click the Exam icon in your class:

Click the “At a Glance” tab:

Click the link on the mid-right column that says “Item Analysis Report”:

Click all the “Display Options” check boxes to display every bit of question and answer data in the test:

Your entire exam will display with the correct answers checked in green, very visual, very easy to make sure the integrity of your answer key was not lost in the import process. Respondus is helpful, but it is essential to check the answer key after each new exam upload, and this process makes it easy!
